outbid.lol launched on August 19, 2026, as a side project by indie developer Jonathan Wilke. In twelve days it passed 1.45 million visitors and $243,000 in revenue, and the top rank reached $17,000. The idea is deliberately simple: you pay to stand above everyone else, and rank is what you pay — nothing else.
What outbid.lol is
The site is a public leaderboard of products and X profiles. Each listing is a website URL or an @handle, placed into one of 26 categories (Agents, SEO, Marketing, Crypto, Developer, Business and more). Visitors see the board ranked by spend, with the top few positions displayed prominently on the homepage.
A rank is not an award and not a review. The official terms are explicit: listings are paid advertisements, not editorial reviews, certifications, endorsements, or independent rankings. You are buying placement at a rank — nothing more.
The three boards
One payment ranks your listing on every board that includes that spend. The boards just look at different windows of time:

In practice this means the same payment can put you on three boards at once, and a listing you paid for weeks ago can still hold its all-time rank while its Today board position quietly expires.
How rank pricing works
- New listings are priced in whole US dollars: $5 minimum, $999,999 maximum, $1 at a time.
- Taking the #1 spot on the all-time board costs at least $5 more than the current #1. Paying less still puts you on the board — at whatever rank that amount can take.
- If two listings have equal amounts, the older one keeps the higher rank. To pass someone, you must pay strictly more.
- Taking Today's #1 costs at least $5 more than the most anyone else spent in the last 24 hours.
- Raising your own listing costs at least $1 above your current rank — and checkout only charges the difference (the pay-the-difference rule).
How to claim a rank
- Go to outbid.lol and enter your product URL or X @handle.
- Pick a category (or accept the AI-assigned one if you're raising an existing listing).
- Set the amount you want to pay — the claim box shows the current price of the rank you're targeting, with +/− buttons for $1 steps.
- Complete checkout, processed by Dodo Payments in US dollars (taxes may be added).
- As soon as the payment is confirmed, the listing is written to the board at whatever rank that amount supports.
The pay-the-difference rule in brief
The single most confusing rule is also the one that shapes the whole game: if you already own a listing and enter the same URL or @handle again to raise it, checkout only charges the difference between your new amount and your current rank, and no one else can take your rank by paying that difference. After you pay
- Your listing is public and clickable — visitors go straight to your URL or profile (query parameters stripped).
- A completed payment is what claims the rank; pending or failed payments claim nothing.
- Your listing must show valid company details (the official terms require listed projects to identify who is legally responsible).
- You can raise your rank anytime by paying the difference; if you'd rather stop, your listing stays on the board at the rank your spend supports.
