You can list a product website or an X @handle on outbid.lol. You cannot list chat or invite links, sexual content, link shorteners, or anything illegal, infringing, or unlicensed. Affiliate and tracking query parameters are stripped, and platform links are keyed by path so different apps don't share a rank.
What you can list
- A product website — as long as you own it or are authorized to represent it.
- An X @handle — again, you must be authorized to represent the account.
- Your listing must be backed by valid company details: the official terms require the live site to display the legal name and, where the applicable law requires it, a postal address, working contact method, and any required imprint, business-register, or tax information.
The banned list
The rules ban these categories outright:
- Chat and invite links — Telegram, WhatsApp, Discord, Messenger, Signal and similar. The board is for products and profiles, not group chats.
- Sexual content — porn, NSFW, or adult platforms do not belong on the board.
- Illegal, fraudulent, defamatory, harassing, hateful, or violent content, and anything that exploits children.
- Counterfeit goods, unauthorized streaming, or other infringement of copyright, trademark, or other rights.
- Offers that require licenses you don't have — including certain financial, medical, gambling, or weapons-related offers.
How links are normalized
Even when a link is allowed, outbid.lol rewrites it in three ways you should know before submitting:
- Query parameters are stripped. Affiliate, referral, and tracking URLs will not work — the listing points at the clean URL. Don't submit a tracking link expecting to measure outbid.lol traffic with it.
- Link shorteners are replaced. If you submit a shortener URL, it's replaced by the URL it redirects to. This is an anti-abuse measure: you can't hide a banned destination behind a short link.
- Platform links are keyed by path. App Store, Play Store, GitHub and similar links are keyed by their path, so different apps don't share a rank. The same app listed twice is still one listing; two different apps on the same store are two listings.
Categories
Listings go into one of 26 categories (Agents, SEO, Marketing, Crypto, Developer, Business, Security, Health, Social, Leaderboards, Hiring, Education, Agencies, Ecommerce, Domains, Games, People, Productivity, Design, Writing, Directories, AI Media, Audio, Sales, Travel, Real Estate, News, Other). Categories for existing listings were auto-assigned by AI, so mis-categorization happens — if your product is in the wrong category, DM @jonathan_wilke on X to have it changed.
What visitors see
When someone clicks your listing, they go straight to your submitted URL or profile — without query parameters, as noted above. Your listing's name, description, favicon or Open Graph image are fetched from your public metadata for display on the board. That's nominative fair use: it identifies your product, nothing more.
